the space
in my head
is too small
for me
to live.
i crawl
to the edges
and scrape
with my fingers
until my nails
bleed
and fill
my eyes
and i can
no longer see.
blinded
by my struggles
for that moment,
i am forced
to sit
in a darkness
that is
soft enough
for my thoughts
to slump down
and let me
rest.
a moment;
that’s all
i needed.
a moment
of quiet.
outside me,
nothing
has changed.
but my head
is still enough
in that moment
as i wipe
my eyes clear,
to realize
that i was
neither
right nor wrong.
just
here.
